About me
Hi, I’m Tomasz Chrapek — a Reykjavík-based Senior Systems Engineer with experience designing, building, and operating high-availability infrastructure for security-focused platforms.
Right now I work at Varist (since 2023), and before that I spent nearly a decade at Cyren, with earlier engineering roles at Commtouch and FRISK Software International.
Alongside my technical career, I’ve been active in public service and community work as Chair of Iceland’s Immigration Council, a former Deputy City Councillor, and founder or contributor to several non-profits across Iceland.
Outside of work and community service, I’m passionate about paragliding, cycling, and photography, with a focus on sustainability and open-source technology.
I hold an M.Sc. in Computer Engineering and an M.A. in Social Pedagogy, and speak Polish, English, and Icelandic, with a bit of Spanish.
